50CAN: The 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now is a nonprofit organization that works at the local level to advocate for a high-quality education for all kids regardless of their address. We help develop local education leaders by providing them with the research, tools and ideas needed to create learning environments that best meet every child’s needs. We focus our work on starting earlier, expanding choices, aiming higher, rewarding talent and reaching everyone. 50CAN operates campaigns in Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island and is led by CEO & Founder Marc Porter Magee.

About the Job

As a key member of the States Team, the Executive Assistant to the President is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to the President and partnering with the different national teams to support our existing network of seven state campaigns and the Education Advocacy Fellowship program. This position reports directly to the President.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and Administrative Support: Use superb judgment and discretion to coordinate and manage the President’s calendar, prepare support materials and agendas for conference calls and meetings, manage travel arrangements, expenses and credit card reconciliations, ensure timely submission of all monthly/weekly reports including but not limited to lobbying reports, monthly maps, and others as directed, and maintain a project management system that allows for clear communication between national support and state teams.
  • States Support: Create and support the implementation of systems and processes to enhance state functions, ensure regular updating of state tools including master calendars and dashboards, lead coordination of Executive Director huddles and run meeting, join weekly check-ins with President and all strategic conversations, and track and update pertinent information associated with key contacts for President in Salesforce database.
  • Office Management:  Create a system for inventory of DC office supplies and ensure timely delivery of new orders, collect and process mail and packages daily, liaise with Team Operations on office technology and infrastructure updates and maintain a warm and supportive office environment.
